I studied English and Spanish for Secondary Schools (Gymnasium) at LMU Munich and also majored in English linguistics (MA thesis: "Doing disagreement - Evidence from the British National Corpus"). I then went on to pursue a PhD in English linguistics at the University of Freiburg (PhD thesis: "Conversion in Asian Englishes. A usage-based account of the emergence of new local norms.") In 2018-19, I did my teacher traineeship and am now a teacher for English and Spanish at a Gymnasium in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg in Germany.
